The PBX-specific guides explain where the required values normally come from and which compatibility limits matter. The general SIP guide is the better starting point when a provider has already given you a registrar, username and password.
What you need before setup
- An existing SIP account, business number or PBX extension.
- The registrar or server host, SIP username and password.
- The required port, UDP, TCP or TLS transport and any SRTP policy.
- Permission to use the extension on this iPhone and, where relevant, the Callmar push relay.
Callmar is the phone client; it does not issue a telephone number or replace the SIP provider. If the administrator uses a different authentication ID, outbound proxy or certificate policy, ask for those details before changing random advanced settings.
SIP and calling
What a successful setup looks like
- Callmar saves the account and the SIP server accepts its registration.
- An outgoing test connects with clear audio in both directions.
- An incoming call reaches the iPhone while Callmar is open.
- With the push relay enabled, an incoming test rings on the lock screen when the app is closed.
These are separate checks. A form can be saved without registering, and a registered extension can still have an outgoing route or audio problem. Work through the sequence instead of changing several settings at once.
Callmar has one SIP username field. If a phone system requires different values for the SIP identity and authentication ID, ask the administrator whether a compatible single login can be provided. The 3CX guide explains why that matters especially for current 3CX deployments.
CRM call logging
Once a call works reliably, optional on-device transcription can turn it into searchable text. Callmar 1.4 can send call details and transcript text to the CRM your team already uses. The direct integrations do not send the audio recording or Apple Intelligence summary.
Keep the order simple
Do not start by importing old calls or connecting every system. Use one SIP account, one short consented call and one known CRM contact. Confirm the result at each step. That small test shows whether the problem belongs to SIP registration, call routing, transcription, contact matching or CRM permissions.
